HIGH AND DRY
Our reporter Jim Robinson was in the middle of the Atacama desert in the north of Chile. Jim interviewed two young visitors.
Ari Richardson is from Durango USA. and Tracy Coward from Liverpool, England.
Tracy arrived to San Pedro after a 20-hour bus journey from the capital, Santiago. She loved San Pedro. She went to the desert with a guy who works for the NASA. He pointed out the constellations and planets. She took amazing photos of the moon through the telescope. She got back after 5 a.m..
Ari arrived by car from Antofagasta. He liked very much too San Pedro but he preferred the geysers at the El Tatio. It is about 100 kilometers from San Pedro. He got up at 3 in the morning to go there. He visited the Valle de la Luna. He walked for about two hours to watch the sunset over the valley. He could see snow in the desert.
